It’s been an incredible couple of weeks here in Halls Gap. With the Grampians GLOW Festival lighting up the town and recent rain bringing the region’s waterfalls to life, there’s been no shortage of reasons to get outdoors and explore.
Inspired by the wet weather, I set myself a challenge: five waterfalls in five days. As it turns out, I may have aimed a little low—I completed the challenge in just three days!
1. Venus Baths
An easy and scenic stroll from Silverband Lodge, Venus Baths is famous as an Instagram-worthy swimming spot in summer. After a good soaking of rain, however, it transforms into a series of rushing rapids. It’s a completely different experience and absolutely worth seeing.

2. Clematis Falls
A true winter performer, Clematis Falls is especially impressive after rain. Start from the Halls Gap Recreation Reserve, or, if you’re feeling energetic, combine it with a walk to Venus Baths from Silverband Lodge for an even bigger adventure.

3. Silverband Falls
Flowing year-round and perfect for families, Silverband Falls is one of the Grampians’ classic waterfall walks. Once you see the water sparkling against the dark granite rocks, you’ll quickly understand how it earned its name.

4-7. The Lower Waterfalls of Gar
Just a 30-minute drive from Silverband Lodge, this walk is the waterfall equivalent of hitting the jackpot. Not one waterfall, not two, but three—and sometimes even four—can be found along the one track, making it a rewarding adventure for keen walkers.
So technically, my “five waterfalls in five days” challenge turned into seven waterfalls in three days, thanks to the Gar walk delivering multiple waterfall bonuses!

And the adventure isn’t over….
And the adventure isn’t over yet. MacKenzie Falls—one of the Grampians’ most iconic waterfalls—is still on my list, along with Turret Falls, Beehive Falls, Splitters Falls, Kalymna Falls, Fish Falls and plenty more hidden gems waiting to be discovered throughout Gariwerd/The Grampians.
There are far more waterfalls than I’ve mentioned here, but I’ll leave a few discoveries for you. After all, part of the magic of staying at Silverband Lodge is finding your own favourite corner of this spectacular landscape.
As for me? Quite frankly, I’m off for another walk!
