Base Camp at
Silverband Lodge

Discover the best of both worlds with
a Base Camp at Silverband Lodge

Base Camps at Silverband Lodge blend the excitement of true outdoor camping with the warmth and comfort of lodge accommodation. Students experience the Grampians in an unforgettable way, spending part of their program at our private bushland campground and part within the cosy surroundings of the lodge. Guided by our experienced camp staff, each day is filled with exploration, hands-on learning, and shared adventures that help students build confidence, teamwork, and a deeper connection to the natural world.

Who is a Base Camp For?

Base Camps at Silverband Lodge are ideal for groups looking to step beyond traditional camp settings and experience a fully immersive bush-based adventure. Designed as the natural progression from a Residential Camp, this program takes students into our private campground at the foot of the Grampians, where they pitch their own tents, cook outdoors, and develop essential campcraft skills.

Set entirely in nature, Base Camps give students the chance to live simply in the bush, exploring the national park on daily hikes, taking part in guided outdoor challenges, and working together to manage their campsite. It’s a practical, hands-on program for schools wanting students to grow their capability, confidence, and connection to the natural world through authentic outdoor living.

Campfires, connection, and starry skies in the Grampians

There’s something truly magical about Base Camp nights at Silverband Lodge. As the sun settles behind the Grampians’ jagged peaks, students gather around the campfire to cook, share stories, and watch sparks drift up into a sky filled with stars. Without the structure and comforts of lodge-style accommodation, evenings in the bush feel more intimate, more grounding, and wonderfully adventurous.

Guided by our skilled camp leaders, students experience the quiet beauty of the outdoors, feeling the satisfaction of setting up their own tents, the excitement of wandering trails at dusk, and the wonder of a night sky unobstructed by anything but the trees. These moments inspire curiosity, reflection, and a deeper sense of connection to place, creating memories that stay with campers long after they return home.
